I recommend you change 200x100 would be great and view their avatar...
and also 48.8 KB smallest animation needs more funnier little bit longer than 60 plus max 100kb less.

Why don't you addintional Sig for attachment addy than sucked in the website url... Pretty having hard time..

Ahh as same yours.. I didn't know.. LOL

Thanks for bring url...

I do more agree but still not good tiny.... *sigh* fusterate for me to make make smaller smaller..

Quite fusterate for me..

Example I have two images..

1st image cannot upload.. catATTACK.gif: (200x100)
File Too Large. Limit for this filetype is 94.5 KB. Your file is 402.3 KB.
*pretty stupid*

2nd image(I tried make smaller)catATTACK2.gif ( create 100x100)
still same result.. Doesn't make sense...
:dunno:

i had tried to put animation on the avatar but it just wont work for me.. I dunno why it wont work.. :pissed:

Here's my response. It's the same as in those other threads related to making avatars bigger. An average internet user uses 800 x 600 pixels. Making bigger avatars uses more space and memory. When more space and memory is uses, it takes longer for the page to load. We still have a lot of dial-up members out there and those are the ones that we have to take into consideration. Secondly, making avatars bigger will make the posting space smaller for those who use 800 x 600 settings. That's why it's recommended that avatars are 100 pixels x 100 pixels and that signature images are 500 pixels x 100 pixels. That altogether makes 600 pixels wide. There's a little space in the margins for the whole website, for the member profile, and the posts. To make the page load and scroll smoothly, these are the best settings.

You can still make a poll, but it probably won't work out. We did allow more memory in the past and it got out of hand. The webpages loaded slower. Members complained that the images were annoying and too big.

*ahem* still same thing old shit

make make smaller smaller.. geez
give me break.. that worst tiny.. works!!!
wtf!! forget it.

Just little increase bit avatar size kbs and pixels..

I've noticed here.. popluar high speed... I would say about 5 or 10 ppl who have dial up.... that small amount whichever popluar is high speed than small members people who user..

I'll make poll

as my other forum admistrator, i prefer the limits 100x100. my understanding is that this forum's storage needs to be lower as they can for storaging the posts, files, images into the web hosting so the bandwidths can be transfered lower as much as we can. it depends on what web hosting can be offered with the different features. some offers free data/http transfer. some dont offer free ones. i dont know about this AD's web hosting. but personally i prefer 100x100.. just right size for the forum.

for instance my own web hosting for my website states -
"Bandwidth Hosting

Bandwidth hosting refers to the amount of data your website will transfer on a regular basis--in other words, the traffic that visits your site. Data transfer is measured in gigabytes (GB) per period--day or month, for instance--and varies greatly. Some hosts offer 40 GB per month, while high bandwidth hosting plans may offer unlimited bandwidth."

"Can High Bandwidth Hosting Be Too High?
The amount of bandwidth your site requires can be calculated easily. Multiply the number of visitors (per day) by the number of pages they visit, and then by the size of your web pages. Obviously, this number will range tremendously between personal sites and those of large businesses. Some claim that most businesses don't need more than 50 GB each month. If you don't need more than that--but you're paying for it--you may be throwing money down the drain."

That is correct! Any web site host will tell ya same thing, and to host a website, expect some bandwidth limitation, UNLESS your willing to shell out more money for wider bandwidth. It ain't cheap!
So, this AD site is offered for everybody at no cost, in exchange for this, we get to look at advertising stuff. So AD charges for advertising to cover the cost of operating this site. So, better having AD running than to see it shut down due to the expense exceeding what the owner can afford.

deafclimber said it well because he speaks from experience. Vampy said it well because he speaks from experience. I know from experience as I used to have a forum and from my past experience, it does cause conflicts to have an "enlarged" animated avatar or signature. It causes problems with the forum and the 56k users will have a much harder time viewing the forum because of the "enlarged" animated avatar or signature.

Sometimes it's best to comply with the rules of the forum because we are not paying anything to use the pleasures of this forum. After all, we should be thankful Alex provides this at no cost.

Feedback is great & I'd love to hear from y'all on this or other posts on this thread.

coloravalanche,

You are ONLY allow one signature image a per member, I see that you have more than one signature image. Vampy or Alex are not going to approved that. I wish I could help you make it animation but, I afraid that my software is expired already. I only had 15 days free trail.

You're welcome, I was using Ulead GIF Animator, It was a 15 days free trail, to try out and see if you like that software after 15 days, You have to purchase it. You asked me how I can flip images on one signature or avatar, It's called "animated". It's not easy, You have to have a lot of patience on how to do that. I am thinking of getting that type of software sometimes in May from any computer store, instead of buying it off any web site. ;)
