I would have shown the same agressive concern toward my misled kids too!

A Baltimore mom was trying to tame violence when she realized her son was throwing rocks at police. She was sure to voice her disappointment, as video caught the woman smacking the boy and chasing him when he walked away. Gayle King reports.

I except more other good mothers slap their kids' ass to behave up. :)

Wow, that was impressive. It's mentioned that she is a "Mom of the Year in Baltimore".

Sorry, but I don't agree with slapping anyone in the face (except maybe someone who is attacking me). Grab him by his ear and drag him home then use words to get the message across to him. Or maybe a good pinch on the butt (which I've been known to use with my girls on rare occasions when they were younger).

DITTO! I would lose my mind if i see one of my kids are in there. THis is not what I raise my kids. heck no!

Throwing a rock at cops deserves a slap in the face. Doesn't it?

be mortified if saw my kids in that situation good on her I hope the humiliation will serve as a good lesson for son

Did you see their relative sizes? He was taller than the mom. With his hood on she couldn't grab his ear, and I doubt he would feel a pinch on the butt.

I wouldn't slap my daughter in the face either but for that mom, drastic times require drastic measures. She had to move fast and hard before he got away or got into trouble.

Humilation rarely seves as good lesson.....so shes the mother of the year for smacking her boy who was rioting?
Seems like a failed mother to me...doubt this was the first smack she gave him...smacks dont really work with teens....and smacks dont make a mother of the year...it takes much more then that in my opinion
Mmmmm
what she did was assult..now her boy should humiliate her back. Move to press charges. if the state refuses, then sue for tle emotional trauma of bieng humiliated for all the workd to see.
Really...
If your going to use violence to solve your plms, as this mother did. She should be smarter then this...
Good vid though, it is after all the society of the specticle.....maybe a reality tv gig is being offered.mmmmm

Now, if we could just see the fathers reigning in their sons….

I think slap on face the last of his problems....I never had to punish my child bc I disaplin with love and this situation I would never be in I hope and pray.....but if I was then that is reaction I could of had

You know, my mom slapped me in the face once because she was pissed at me for a normal argument. I slapped her right back in the face. It's not a proper response for normal situations.

This is not a normal situation. I know that I would be so wrong in hitting anyone. I've only ever hit one other person in my life, and they were physically messing with me and I had warned them and they would not stop. I don't even playfully slap people. In this woman's situation, where her son has chosen to act stupidly and apparently against the way she taught him (going by her response), and he was in a life and death situation, yeah, I'd slap my own kid for the same thing.

I was thinking this too. I admire that mom in the video ,she was not worried about being her son 'best friend' she was doing her as a mother.
We need more mom like that , I am sure you seen how some kids act while out shopping .
