America is too desperate. When it will excuse people with disabilities being mocked, Ethnic groups are insulted & Hate groups are tolerated. I know people are suffering economically, but god is this the price of prosperity?
 
That's the price of freedom. People have a right to believe and say what they want to in this country. I prefer it to the alternative.
 
I don't care if people want to burning their flags and it is their rights.

Most people in US are overly patriotic and oversenstive.

We are in US, not North Korea nor PRC.
 
It's getting to be like N Korea! Trump wanted to take SNL off the air b/c the show made fun at him and now he want to take away people citizenship if they burn the flag ! I would NEVER burn the flag ! Trump is acting like dictator ! He want to take away our freedom of speech !

Same here, I will NEVER, under any circumstance to burn the flag, but I believe that protesters are free to burn their flags whatever they want, so they need to aware about fire safety and respect burn ban in areas that are in drought.

I know that they aren't offend to veterans and troops, but they just against US government (civilian), not military.

US flag represents the government and the military in US.

Most people in the US aren't patriotic enough; they don't even know their own country's history.

I find flag burning to be highly offensive but like you posted, it's their First Amendment right. I can't legally stop them but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

Americans should be proud of living in the US and not in some other totalitarian countries. They should be proud of flying the flag of their country, or at least show respect for it.

That's probably true for people who are not historians, but I'm lucky enough to know about our country, history, also people who got involved in political discussion usually know about our country's history, even if they don't agree with some of our government. If people have no interest in history or political so they have no idea about how their country running.

The flag burners want to manipulating your emotion as to get your attention, so I know that burning flags have no meaning to themselves and they thought that our government will change if they burn the flag, but that's not happen at all. If you ignore and not feed the flag burners (troll) so they will eventually stop burning after they realize that burning the flag won't help themselves. They are more like WBC - remember about funeral picketing. The flag burners often get death threat if publicized via social networking and media.

For protesting, I would consider to walk out and harming our country's economy, not burning our country flag. You are free to discourage people from burning the flag for political reason or anything, beside retired flags.

I have mixed feeling about consider US as true freedom country, but for me, it isn't true freedom country because people of color usually get attacked for no reason, IRS go after citizens have little to no money to pay taxes, ridiculous, unnecessary rules go after citizens, president candidates and government limit on freedom of press, NSA watch all of us and other problems with our country and DEA/LEO crack on possession of drugs. Many people are hypocritical, even on both liberal and conservative alike.

Honest with you, I don't think that pledge of allegiance and national anthem are necessary in schools and sports if it isn't related to politics and military, but I agree about necessary for people who are on military properties or government meeting. The other countries like UK don't use those like that.
 
Although it bothers me I do think flag burning should be allowed. On the same note I think people should be allowed to sell cakes to who they want (Again, even if I don't personally agree). What gets me is that the same people that will burn a flag will cry hate speech if someone says something they don't like.
 
I don't like it either , I had posted I found a small flag on the ground and tried to fix the stick that was broken . What I am concerned about if Trump want to start taking away our freedom of speech how far will he go with this ! What next, we won't be able to protest anymore? If we allow flag burning to become illegal we had just allowed ourselves to lose more of our rights! I refuse to be passive , we fought for our freedom of speech and now some people want to give it up !
 
I'm very patriotic, and the old Red, White & Blue, it's Stars & Stripes, may it fly forever. For those who want to burn, even stomp on our Flag?...No way!..It's very disrespectful. And I agree with Trump...they should be jailed and fined.
 
Jailed and fined is fine but loss of citizenship? Where is the person supposed to go if they "lose their citizenship"? Surely hope that part is hyperbole but then nothing surprises me anymore about what comes out of his mouth....embellished or not.
 
Far left wing, especially communist, anti-imperialism and anarchy groups aren't alone about burn and desecrate the US flags, also WBC and far right wing, anti-US desecrated the US flags too.

Trump indeed energized those groups so they burned the US flag at front of Trump Hotel, that's absolutely terrible and tasteless. Trump needs to stay away from Twitter and FB, and focus on president transition and fix the broken government.

If you lose the US citizenship, you will become a stateless person.
 
I tell you when it stops - when people realize that it's very unfortunate how during campaign, with Donald Trump freely expressing his unfortunate racist views intolerant people started also loudly expressing their uneducated, intolerant views.
What CAN we DO to STOP that, we should stop concentrating on negatives and start looking at POSITIVES and SPREAD a word of PEACE and mutual understanding and respect. let's simply stop talking about hate. people say Obama divided USA - what a baloney! - remember people giving free hugs on the streets world all over? that was OBAMA! let's do it again!
let's spread the message of UNITY again! give hugs, smiles, hearts and peace sign to strangers ! :cuddle: :kiss::ily:

This not going to happen on alldeaf ! It's a very nice thought but as long Trump keep dividing the country things will only get worst ! I try to do an act of kindness when I go out , stopping to let a person cross the street or letting a driver made a turn. Most of the time they will wave to thanks me , once a guy throw a kiss to me b/c I stopped for him.
I have neighbors that voted for Trump and we still talk to one another .

I believe it will if we stop saying negative things. But in order for this to happen you too, must stop saying negative things.
You see, everyone must start with oneself to see any change. If you wait for others, this may never happen indeed.
So, let's start with "I".

I believe it will happen on All Deaf. I believe we can appreciate each other.
I appreciate the differences between us on AD. I appreciate that we differ in our beliefs, in our ethnicity.
I believe we can be united in that on AD.
