I find for alerting during the day (and even at night), my blackberry does a better job than any vibrating watches I've seen.The Captel phone is functionally the same as any VCO (Voice Carry Over) phone. The advantage/difference with the Captel phones is the automated Relay connection and that you have a phone number that routes incoming calls automatically through the Captel Relay service. Provided someone is comfortable using their voice (and their voice is clearly understandable to strangers) and they are able to read the visual text display (where the relayed text scrolls) then the Captel works fine regardless of how Hoh or deaf you are.
