Someone mentioned that their phones are still ringing. That's absolutely correct, in that when you dial the number you get a ring tone. However, that's just you connecting to the network, then the network has to find the other phone and connect you. Instead, the calls get disconnected, which means that no one's phones are available.
People seem to forget just how big the water is. Even though they found debris from the Air France crash, it still took them 2 more years to actually find the plane itself.
