For those who use AIM, should we have a subforum for AIM stuff and tips only in the Computer forum? Make your vote count!

PM if you have any questions!

As for those who hate AIM, I don't care! I want this to be fun and not be a source of backstabbing and flaming. It's supposed to be fun and educational! If you post such negative reply against using AIM or act as PRO-otherbrandofinstantmessengerist, I will politely request the mods to remove your post! Thank you for your consideration! :D

It would be a good idea if it was a long term thing. AIM is always changing so this sounds like a short term thing. I'm also a Trillian Pro user and won't have much use for AIM advice since Trillian provides more than AIM does.

How long will Trillian last anyway? MSN is already cutting access to Trillian next week. Who knows if other services will follow suit. As for short term or long term, I have been on Original Icons forum for a very long time and it is still there! I would like to see one, an AIM forum, made for the Deaf peeps.

Actually, Trillian managed to beat the system. Here's a quick history for Trillian...

First Release, 0.50/0.51 of Trillian with IRC support.
  • August 11, 2000
The next version of Trillian (0.52/0.521) released with many more irc specific features.
  • November 29, 2000
Instant messaging arrives with AIM, ICQ and MSN in version 0.60. Many other features are also added.
  • December 23, 2000
Version 0.61 released. Includes Yahoo support.
  • January 28, 2001
    Version 0.62 released.
  • March 23, 2001
    Version 0.63 released.
  • June 04, 2001
    Version 0.635 released.
  • June 20, 2001
    Version 0.6351 released.
  • December 05, 2001
Version 0.70 released. File transfers have arrived!
  • December 18, 2001
Version 0.71 released. First major IM client to include Encrypted IM.
  • January 29-February 20, 2002
Version 0.72,0.721,0.722,0.723,0.724 and 0.725 released. Fixed some AIM Connection issues.
  • June 7, 2002
    Version 0.73 released.
  • September 10, 2002
    Version 0.74 released.
    Trillian Pro version 1.0 released.
  • September 9, 2003
    Trillian Pro version 2.0 released.
Each version is when they beat the system. Some versions are improvements and/or upgrades. From January 2002 to February 2002, AIM constantly tried to block Trillian, but Trillian beat them every time. I also like skins features as well as groups in groups feature. I can even chat while being away at the same time. With AIM, I can only hold up to 12 boxes at their smallest size on the monitor without overlapping them. My current skin for my Trillian allows me to have 30 boxes without overlapping them. In fact, I don't even have to worry about overlapping since they snap to each other making perfect alignment. I love Trillian!

This just remind me of the Netscape situation. (I'm referring to the Trillian situation)
