'Affluenza' teen Ethan Couch detained in Mexico

So all that the judge really did was to enable Ethan even more by not throwing him in jail . I wonder if the judge was paid off by his affluenza
parents . He killed 4 people and badly injured 2 people get away with b/c he a spoiled brat ! . The judge should throwed the book at the spoiled brat and show him how to take responsibility for his behavior instead of taking pity on him ! Disgusting !
 
The pain just continues for the victims and their families. :(
 
I wonder who they had to pay off for the original judge to not order the surrender of his passport....

I means he got away with murder charges.

Why he received a probation instead of 80 years to life in prison? I said that he got technically away with murder charges and not in prison.

He got probation because money talks and they probably made a "donation" to get this deal. It's true - there are different laws for the wealthy than for the average Joe....

I saw on the news the family had a going away party for the jerk ! What a bunch of arrogant sobs ! Disgusting people think they're better than the people their son killed.

Not quite Fox...people who take a life should face the death penalty if their intent is clear. If this young man only injured people, the death penalty would make no sense, but he killed four people. However, given that he was drunk at the time he doesn't qualify because the prosecution would have to prove premeditation and intent. At best it's involuntary manslaughter which should put him in jail for 20-30 years....not probation and a slap on the wrist with the right to hold on to his passport.

It's a sad day when the public can't count on the judge to follow the law.
