Just a little advice on crossing border.

I go into the state alot and seen alot of things there so heres a little list of what you should do or not do.

-always have your id (2 piece) or passport with you (they might wanna check u out)
-be very honest as much u can when talking to the custom
-nevermind the weeds or any other drugs...they have a right to search the car.
-there are limited quality of bringing some alcohols and cigarettes. (if you exceed the limit.you would have to pay a little more...i don't know how it really works.)
-they will ask who owns the vehicle. be honest and say whoever owns it.

my suggestion is.....write down and say whereu are from and where u are going and how long you would be staying in canada. get that done beforehand and drive up tell the custom that your deaf and hand him/her the paper. ( i always do that...usually works well for me)

Heres the link about the custom...might give u some ideas and etc. http://www.customs.ustreas.gov/xp/cgov/enforcement/border_patrol/

if you don't have anything to hide then you ain't got nothing to lose

Hope the info here is helpful to you guys :) The reason i posted this is cos i WANT all of you to be able to come into canada and have a great time at okberfest.

Kuifje75 told me that it is also a good idea to say to the people at customs, "I am a citizen of United States of America." Because, if you say, "I am an American citizen.", you will get bad attitude from the customs. Interesting. I wonder why is that and maybe you Canadians know the answer?

258~ They have changed because I remember one time many years ago my dad, my brother, and I went across the border to go to Alaska. The Canadian asked Dad for only one identification, vehicle registration and any fruits. I was like, "FRUITS?!"

So it's interesting. Thanks. :thumb:

I don't really know...Ive came accross very pissy custom a few times...nevermind them.

Yes Kuifje is right....cos you are a CITIZEN of U.S.A.. I always say i am a canadian because I was actually born there though.

I remember one time where i declared a couple bottle of whiskey and this custom sorta shouted at me saying how many and where i was going. I answered and was let on my way.

My shortest convo with custom was...

CUSTOM : citizenship
ME: canadian
CUSTOM: go ahead.

lol short n sweet eh? very very rare you would see that happen.

Ah! This time I ain't gonna bring anything at all!

Why? I was busted at border once before around in Washington/Canada.

*scoffed lightly*

That was when I brought 2 oz of weeds, some glass accessories, and a sheet of LSD hits!

*laughing maniacally* I haven't spent a full night in jail. I got away scot-free... but never again (Bringing any shit).

I'll just bring nothing illegal!

;)

edit: That happened years ago... when I was, what, 22 yrs old? *smirks*

Oktoberfest will be a busy time at the border... Customs will ask for your pieces of identication like Drivers' Licence, Birth Certificate and/or Passport.

If you buy any alcohol and/or cigarettes, you have to declare it.

Just say "Citizen of USA" if you are from USA and say you are going to Kitchener, Ontario for the Oktoberfest festivities. They will say how long you are staying.. just say for the weekend. They will let you go...

Nothing to worry about the border.. SMILE!!! ;)

Thanks for advices, Bowak!

The last time I visited Toronto, I was in the bus with my classmates from art institute. We had our birth cerficiates and passports ready when the officers came in the bus, shouted at us "Are you all citizen of USA?!" then we yelled back "Yeah!" They were like, ok let's go. I thought it was pretty simple heh.
