Iconic Hollywood actress Lauren Bacall dead at 89
(RNN) – Lauren Bacall, the iconic bombshell starlet who rose to fame in Hollywood's Golden Age, has passed away. She was 89 years old.
The actress died Tuesday morning after suffering a stroke in her Upper West Side Manhattan home, her family confirmed with media outlets.
The official Twitter account of her Humphrey Bogart's estate broke the news, tweeting: "With deep sorrow, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall."
With nicknames like “The Look” and “Betty,” Bacall's beauty and acting ability made her a hot commodity to Hollywood, and she has more than 70 acting credits to her name and had a career that spanned seven decades, according to IMDB.
Born Betty Joan Perske in New York City on Sept. 16, 1924, she was the daughter of a Polish-Jewish immigrant mother and a New Jersey salesman.
As a child, Bacall wanted to become a dancer, but found acting suited her more. After graduating from high school, she entered the modeling world. She briefly studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, which got her a handful of off-Broadway roles.

I thought she was one of most beautiful woman in Hollywood. I loved her movies , we had lost a great actor and actress in one week .
