I'm new in this forum, so I'll introduce myself. I have been severely to profoundly deaf (90 dB) since I was a baby, having sensorineural hearing loss in both ears from Enlarged Vestibular Aqueduct.
I'm 17 now, and I've just had a cochlear implant surgery on my left ear about 2 weeks ago, and they will activate it next week. Only problem is, I've never had tinnitus except for a few seconds once a month before the surgery. After the surgery, I began having tinnitus all the time, it never stops!
My parents say when they activate it, it will be gone, but I don't believe them. Am I going to be stuck with tinnitus in my left ear for the rest of my life?
