different places vary.. call different salons to get prices.. and it is a good idea to have long hair like maybe 2 or 3 weeks... depends how fast your leg hair grows.. cuz mine do.. .. but anyway.. i dont like waxing cuz i get a lot of ingrown hair.. and they SUCK!! ... i wouldn't think there would be any side effects?? thats a good question.. but i highly doubt it..
