And oh yeah adding to that - be careful of the amount you do loan. Sometimes you cant be 'generous' simply because you can't afford to.
I usually let someone borrow money one time, and I find out when they get paid. The day they get paid - I pester them for the money until it is returned. They get no more money from me until they have paid me back.
If they ask me to loan them money again whether or not they have paid me back then I tell them you either need to get a second job to cover your expenses or learn to manage your money better!
