This extraordinary photo shows a random splash of seawater, magnified 25 times » Lost At E Minor: For creative people
As if you needed another reason not to drink sea water! David Liittschwager, an accomplished award-winning photographer who has created numerous marine wildlife photos for National Geographic, has created an image showing the microfauna that exists inside a single drop of seawater! By magnifying the water 25 times, he showed that the salty taste of seawater isn’t just salt – there are bacteria, worms, fish eggs, crab larva, diatoms, and a whole host of other creepy crawlies all fighting for a place on your tongue. Dive-shield.us has a more accurate breakdown of the critters in this awesome shot. (via)

That's got to be from sitting water, alot less of the bugs are found in water constantly in motion. I agree, that's instant beef stool til the bulls come home!

that amazing....old fisherman near me drinks pint day sea water say keeps him young, horrible taste

My ex and I where walking on the beach bare foot and a policeman came up to us and told us we should put our shoes back b/c there are parasites in the sands. I can't remember what kind they where but put our shoes back on fast.

Gasp, you walked barefoot?
It is a shame there are too many hypodermic needles laying around the beaches.

I grew up near a beach and always walked barefoot and it was fine , it's drag you can't do that anymore. I won't bring my dog Marty to the beach b/c he could step on something . I did find a hypodermic needle at the beach and I used an empty bottle I found on the beach to pick up the hypodermic needle hypodermic . I had a clean poop bag and I used that pick the bottle so I did not touch it. Then I gave it to some city workers so they could throw it away. The beach looks like a junk yard when people get done using it . :(

Wow so much stuff in so little space, it's like ChicagoBlue's post count.
