You can compare from 1990 to 2014.
In 25 years ago, most people were skinny but now, many of them are fat.
All we had to worry about as kids of the 1950's and 60's was don't talk to strangers and being nuked out of existence by the Soviets.
I just saw on the news that teenagers are getting surgery to lose weight.
WT?! The parents needs to start cooking healthier meals and stop feeding their kids so much and don't let sit them around the house all day . The surgery is not going to help unless you change the kids eating habits and get them to exercise more. Yeah kids were not fats when I growing up, we had to walk to school and in snow storms too , then walk back home for lunch
then back to school and home again. Now kids are being dropped right in front of their house by the school bus , I once saw a bus let one kid out
then stopped at a house 2 houses away from the last kid . I was
you mean a kid can't walk pass 2 houses to get home ???

That's a pretty broad question. That covers 10 years, and includes local, state, and national, and classes of crimes (burglary, battery, murder, rape, theft, etc.).How was crime rate in 1950s?

That's a pretty broad question. That covers 10 years, and includes local, state, and national, and classes of crimes (burglary, battery, murder, rape, theft, etc.).
Here's one figure, to start with:
National Homicide Rate by year
Average 4.4 for 1950-59.
Average 5.3 for 2004-2013.
But there's this:
"The crime rate for serious crimes, including murder, rape, and assault, has dropped significantly since the early 1990s in part because of changes in technology and policing, experts say." (January 2012)
US crime rate lowest in decades
And this:
NCPA
Violent crime rates approach historic lows
So, there are a variety of conclusions.
Try this:
State and national crime statistics for the last 50 years
There are people are eating at fast food more often, even I see a lot of families eating at McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC because they are cheaper and more convenient to them. Sometime, school serve unhealthy food, especially fried food and ObamaLunch isn't going fix anything.
Many families told me that they are stressed with jobs and can't handle cooking so they go after fast food.
