I already read your post. It's old news to me.

I wonder why you think 1080p isn't available as an option?

You misunderstood.

I said... "If it isn't available as an option" meaning if your TV only go up to 720p/1080i. Most HDTV sets on the market don't offer 1080p right now. Most of them go up to 1080i (DLP, Rear Projection) or 768p/720p (LCD). A lot of 720/768p LCD TV can accept a 1080p signal but they will not be shown at 1920x1080, instead they will be shown at 1366x768 or 1280x720.

However, on most LCD HDTV sets, they are either 720p or 768p despite the fact that they can accept 1080i/p signals, they will still display it at 720p.

1366x768 is the most common display for the LCD HDTV on market these days. You can get 1920x1080 LCD displays but they aren't as common as 720p/768p displays yet, they will be soon.

Why do you think I am misunderstand? I got your point very clear. My coworker bought new FULL HD LCD and Toshiba HD-DVD last year.

What does this have to do with HD-DVD? HD-DVD movies are 1080p, the $500 Toshiba player is 1080p.

If you see "HDTV" it mean not true HD since it's 1080i and 720p. Full HDTV and HDTV are not same, More than 95% people in USA who dont know about between Full HDTV and HDTV. Sad?

1080p is available already but you are right about over-the-air is not ready for 1080p yet.

I still waiting for Banjo's answer.

Canada's most market don't offer 1080p?!?!

USA already have lot of them since last year.

1080p is full HD but 720p is true HD.

I don't understand why he said "Most HDTV sets on the market don't offer 1080p right now" That's mean he is very hard to find 1080p
