My dad ate a lot of fish and we had a whole smoked fish on our table every Sunday so I am use to seeing this. I wanted to buy some pickled herring , but it was out of stock . I really doubt eating it will bring me good luck but I do have a good excuse in having some , l love pickled herring with black rye bread.

I love picle herring also like kippers think you have them...my town last place in uk to have fish smoking house from herring bloater kipper

Yeah that is very true , this not good luck for the fish . My dad was from Russia and he loved fish , and had at least 3 kinds of fish for his Sunday breastfast . The store had herring with dill and I never had that before , we had pickled herring growing with black Russian bread . You can't find that kind of bread anymore. :(
