Jupiter's stormy Great Red Spot is shrinking

Um, no. It takes 3 days for our astronauts to reach the moon from Earth. It can be done quicker, as the linked article shows, it wasn't used for the Apollo landings. How Long Does it Take to get to the Moon? | Universe Today Mars manned mission times that I've read are closer to 2 year...

    MVP is success!!

I spoke too soon. The author of the site responded with information he was using a PHS300 "Personal Host Spot" router with a Sprint 3G USB aircard. I presume 3G speeds are enough when equipped with that router. I saw there is a note up from Bob asking about where they were using the router...

    MVP is success!!

False? Huh? They make no claims about HOW they do it -- just that it's possible to do. Someone needs to get an answer from them on: 1) What was their setup? EVDO-equipped WiFi router on what cell network in what area? Could they be using Sprint 4G in Baltimore? 2) What were their...

    MVP is success!!

Simple answer - we ask them what they did. I'm sure they'd be glad to post their setup so others could do the same.

    CODA VRS service now available

We have no information about this service. The whole thing doesn't have an about page, no customer service information, no background, no filing on the FCC, just the word of the poster that it's legit. I wouldn't trust this service at all.

So, so, so, so confused about deaf plans for smartphones! :(

1st quarter 2009's almost over, and there's been no announcement of the Bold yet. So, I'd say that's most likely not going to happen by then. If you can find something that says September, I'd be grateful, but no news right now means still no real launch date. Sprint did put out the cool...

Where the heck are you getting this September release info for the Bold on the Sprint network?

Any one going to DeafNation Expo in KC??

I'll be there. Usually around 1-2 thousand show up, and have about 30-40 booths. Since it's free, it's worth your time if it's not an overnight stay.

    MVP = Mobile Video Phone

The MVP is using plain old internet. Ojo was down when they didn't pay their SIP provider - which is a more complicated setup, because you can make voice calls and video calls using the same phone, but at the same time, it's more expensive to maintain than just using the internet.

So, so, so, so confused about deaf plans for smartphones! :(

It's real simple. Don't call. Go online. In fact, go to Sprint Relay Store - Welcome!. You'll get the straight answer there regarding Sprint's "deaf plans." Calling just puts you in touch with the hearing cell phone plans. The deaf plans are usually "off-radar" and offered only by select...

Geez, man, patience! Not everyone is looking in on this thread in 24 hours.

50 jobs, 50 states in a year? Man gives it a try

I bet he's not working 40 hours a week. He's probably just getting in, maybe working 2 or 3 days, just enough to say he did accomplish something, then jetting off to the next destination or mucking around. You can't plan out a whole year perfectly without constant upkeep and reviewing where...

50 jobs, 50 states in a year? Man gives it a try

I bet this guy is well off enough that he doesn't even NEED to work. Think about it: 1) He's constantly moving - so either he's staying in hotels all the time, or living out of a car, or crashing with friends - still not exactly a cheap way to live 2) He had enough free time to line up...

What Makes Some Deaf Children (But Not Others) Good Readers?

Are you kidding me? Not in my experience. Those who say that statement "we're _D_eaf - we don't need to learn English" are CAPITAL-D deaf. How many little-d deaf students say that? Isn't there a high correlation between those who are capital-D and having family or early exposure to deaf...

    Vp-200 + wrt54g2?

Yeah, here's your problem. Well, fine, don't come crying to us when you learn that Linksys has had HUGE compatibility issues with Sorenson devices. This goes all the way back to the VP-100. It's just the way that Linksys designs their routers to be in conflict with how Sorenson designs...

NSFL - Not Safe For Liberals

I don't think it's overkill. And I'm a classic definition of a "liberal." What is dangerous if they use this for run of the mill stuff like drug possession busts. Wielding a sledgehammer like this should be only called for in the most dangerous of situations such as major busts or hostage...

    purple communication not yet offical

That's a pretty complicated setup, and typing is not something VRS interpreters are trained to do. And how many DBs are there? It'd be a very very very rare service.

    Question regarding requesting an accomodation

DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer, I am not your lawyer, this is not legal advice, and you should seek legal advice from an appropriate lawyer if you want to take legal action on your issue. Actually, in my opinion, if the booklet is word for word, that might be enough to pass muster as...

    purple communication not yet offical

I overlooked Viable, but I also don't think of them as "big." I would have remembered them if they had a major presence. I only recall seeing advertising from them when their VPAD was new and hot before the Z came out and the MVP was making waves with the whole social networking thing. They...
