    oral death program question

Not sure how it works for everyone else, but seeing the person's eyes and mouth help me. I also do not have hearing aids, but I just started with the Vocational Rehabilitation. If my glasses break I seem to loose all hearing. Lol

    I want to read...

I have read Under the Dome also. Wanted to reread since the show started, but have not had a chance. Your current read sounds interesting. Stephen Kings son writes also?! I will have to check him out. My current reads are some books about hoh/deafness that my mom gave me. I have Steve Jobs...

    Hello from Asheville

The NC mountains are nice. We were headed out to Brevard to see some waterfalls and I was so excited to see Chimney Rock. Have never seen anything like that in my life! Driving A1A in Cocoa Beach and watching a shuttle blast off was awesome too. Wish I could take in more wonders of the world.

    Hello from NC

I am in Denver, by Charlotte. I did go to Asheville this summer for the first time to see the Biltmore. I would love to see more of it and the mountains were awesome. I am from flat a$$ Texas (by proxy), so Asheville was a nice change of pace.

I used to work at KFC and we had a deaf man as a regular. Not sure about the other employees, but me and another woman always took the time to get him what he wanted. Even if we had to turn the screen around for him to push the buttons. I have been HOH for a long time now. I wanted him to leave...

    Department of Rehabilitation

Your past experiences sound horrible. I have been a stay at home mom besides some little part time jobs to subsidize our income. I just graduated college and doing my job hunt now. I am HOH and probably should say deaf in one ear. No hearing aids and I just started my adventures with the VRS. My...

I'm hearing, learning ASL, and am a bit confused...

Hi Rainbows. I am HOH and not sure if I should say deaf in my left ear. I have dealt with it for a long time, but am just now beginning to join the community and recently even learned that it is a culture. My mother is deaf (as many women in my family) and has withdrawn herself from most of the...

    Hello from NC

Hi. It was great to find this site. I am HOH, as all the women in my family are. We have otosclerosis so it is bound to just get worse. I am trying to learn ASL at home and teach my 3 year old grandson. So I will read around the forum now. Just so glad to find a place with people who understand...
