    Linux Users with VRS applications

Hi! So, based on a cursory checking of the Technology Talks subforum, there's quite a few of us on various types of Linux. I myself am on Linux Mint and Fedora. Linux Mint on the laptop, Fedora on the desktop. Now... my question to you is: Have you had success in getting VRS...

    What is the Homegroup icon?

Yup. Fortunately, I'm the one that gets to take home those things... more often though, I get to take home beer. :P

    What is the Homegroup icon?

No. That is not why. People do not know these things because there is rarely a manual included with the operating system on how to use it. For that, you'd want a third-party book. Windows for Dummies would be one such example.

Sorenson shut down SIPRelay on July 31

Ah. I'd been wondering. Thanks for the clarification, bro. You're right, though. Insofar as Congress goes, Congress can only pass resolutions/laws, have it be enforced by the Courts and/or validated by the Courts in addition to being signed by the President. I was slightly confused by the...

Sorenson shut down SIPRelay on July 31

Actually... Congress has full control over the FCC. Congress makes the bills, the President signs those bills into law. Then the FCC adapts to the new laws as best as they can. The FCC answers to Congress and the President. To say otherwise is folly. The FCC has nearly the same full powers as...

    Random book quote

Awesome. :) I've been writing this one for just a little over a year. (well, actually more like six months... but I've been doing a lot of world-building. Notes and stuff...)

    Random book quote

“Do you remember the time… when simple things made you happy? Do you remember the time… when little things made you laugh? You know, Life is simple, because the best is yet to come…” Dreamer's Awakening -- Ramon Reyes, AKA Keiro here on AD... the book is still in the process of being written...

    Sorenson vs ZVRS

So, update on the porting of my phone number out to ZVRS. That process started on Monday of this week. I didn't have the webcam I needed to get myself verified with ZVRS until Saturday, last week. After going through the process, I have to say: This process was incredibly easy. They also even...

upgrade to Windows 8 next year?

It's not learning that's the issue. I've been playing with the released RCs and Previews so far. And I absolutely hate it. It is a goddamn pain in the ass, especially when it comes to BSoDs. It is not at all helpful in that regard, hiding the important information that we who know how to...

    VRS software for Linux?

... Well then. I guess it's time I have our developers look into building something for our Linux users... I'm one of them, but that's mostly for our servers, not desktop users. We'll be checking out how we handle this.

    Linux OS question

That so? Well then... I guess I'll put the full force of our company's support behind this team. As far as the original post's question... if it's an older computer, I'd suggest something like Damn Small Linux or... Ubuntu with a simplified interface, such as LightDM.

upgrade to Windows 8 next year?

Ugh, no thanks. I've spoken with other people who do the same thing as I do, and they all hate it. Which means I'll hate it as well.

upgrade to Windows 8 next year?

I am not upgrading to Windows 8. There is absolutely no need for me to, if I do not have a touch-screen. However, we will be purchasing Windows 8, for development purposes and to probably offer it as an option for our VPS servers. I'm not too keen on Windows 8. I'll stick with Windows 7...

    Sorenson vs ZVRS

I tend to prefer troubleshooting things myself. I typically make very odd network setups. Personally, I don't think it's necessary for trainers to have to verify the person they're doing the setup for, for the VRS company they're working with to know that fact. ... Particularly if the user...

    Sorenson vs ZVRS

Really? I must be the last one to know it, then, because I couldn't find that installer code until I finally decided to ask technical support for the installer code. They refused until I insisted and explained why I wanted the code. :| Also, SneakerNet: Cute, but I'm not going to be using...

    Sorenson vs ZVRS

I do believe I'll be porting my SorensonVRS phone number to ZVRS. VRSEngineer: I'm going to ask you the same question I asked SorensonVRS regarding their new nTouch VP - "Direct question to SorensonVRS Installers/Tech Support: Is it at ALL possible to do a self-install for the new nTouch...
