    Introducing DeafBadger, Part II

Hi AllDeaf, it's been a while since I last logged in. Might have been as much as a year or two, not sure. Thought I'd do a re-introduction and update everyone on the latest news. I'm oral deaf/hoh, 37 years old, male, and single for the time being. I moved to the Minneapolis metro in...

    Moved to Minneapolis area

Thank you, Bebonang. :) I'll try to find Thompson Hall. I'm enjoying St. Louis Park so far, it's a nice town, doesn't feel like big city, even though it's right next to Minneapolis. I met a friend for coffee in Uptown Minneapolis, nice area.

    School bans activities at recess

Honestly, I think it is the legal atmosphere. People are so sue-happy, they'll sue for any reason. It is very costly to fight off lawsuits. For this reason, I think schools, businesses, etc, are locking down what you can and can't do, just to try to head off a lawsuit before it happens. It...

Hey everyone. Just checking in to tell you that I moved to the Minneapolis area. It would be great to meet some All Deaf Forum people. Just a reminder, though, I don't know sign language. I am speech-read only at this point. So if that's okay with you, send me a private message on here and...

    Citizen Band radio (CBs)

When i was in high school (1990s) some friends of mine got into CB radios. I bought a Uniden CB radio and put it in my car, but it was difficult for me to hear. I could understand my friends sometimes, but it was pretty useless. Still, the whole idea of CB radios was cool. I'm wondering...

What Song Are You Listening To?

Bit of a backstory to this song. This is a British group and the song is about the Margaret Thatcher government and how it employed union-breaking tactics in the 1980s. Union groups felt betrayed by former allies and those in power. The song is also ties the struggle to a famous English...

I'm starting to hate deaf people....I am hard of hearing

That's a good approach for any group of people, hearing or deaf. I've noticed that in some groups, hearing or deaf, there seems to be a few people who think they own the group. They think they are the arbiters of who belongs and who does not. The way around this is, like you said, to...

Strange, I have a mentor who is guiding me in what to learn to start a web dev job. He says the web dev market is hiring a lot of people right now. Maybe it's certain cities?
