    Did your (hearing) parents learn to sign?

    My mum actually took signing classes for me when I was between 4/5 years old because I used to get so frustrated, but she didnt learn anybody after passing her level 1 as I refused to sign back. But even now, she will fingerspell things or sign a little if needed

    Im bimodal, i use a hearing aid in my right and a CI in my left. Guessing you're 19 or under as you have bilateral implants as I couldnt get bilateral implants cos i was "too old for NICE"

    Is deafness a disability?

    I don't really like the word "disability" for deafness as it does not seem right at all, as the only thing we cannot do is hear/hear normally. I don't really consider myself as disabled.
