Hearing aids or no hearing aids, that is the question!

It's your choice to wear them as much or little as you want. If you can still hear sounds with them, then HAs still work.

    Medicine to Treat Deafness

You got your CI back in 1994? What db threshold do you hear with CI and what's your speech understanding? My parents told me when I was a young child, they attended a CI seminiar and the speaker actually said "do not get CI if you can hear anything at all with HAs. CI gave you very little...

How long do you wish to live if you get a choice?

Explain your choice. I would like to live forever(be immortal) because the universe/multiverse is infinite. There is an infinite amount of places to explore and things to experience and knowlege to obtain. There is infinite room for an infinite number of humans/animals/aliens/life forms.

    Medicine to Treat Deafness

I respect your choice. What made you choose CI instead of HAs or silence forever? I have my many reasons(explained in my blog and other posts) for choosing stem cells over CI. I hear to some degree with HAs but would love to hear better.

Adult stem cell is happening right now to cure hearing loss!

*shrugs* please be mature about it and stay on topic. I know you are against stem cells but respect goes both ways. I respect your choice not to get stem cells, please respect our choice to get stem cells. I find your jokes against the hearing(and those who want to be hearing) insulting. I do...

    Very cold!!!!

Gonna have to spend more $ on a/c in a few days. My parents said my bro and sis heated their apartment. I was like "what a waste" this is Gainesville, north FL, not Minnesota! No one in Florida needs heat, it never gets really cold! It starts to get cold in Tennessee and further north.

Scientists work on 1000+ year lifespans!

Living to 1000 years would reduce aging by a factor of over ten. In way less than 1000 years from now, we likley will find a way to reverse aging and achieve immortality(even if it means uploading your brain into a cyborg) Space is infinite and we aren't alone. There's enough room for all...

Scientists work on 1000+ year lifespans!

Many things can kill us. Tiny atoms of radation can kill us in fact! Computers and robots will take most of our jobs in the next few decades. They would take over the world for our own protection. This could mean an utopia then! We might be treated similar to what we treat our pets...

    Very cold!!!!

Usually, it's 70-85 degrees so I welcome the cooler weather. Those living a little further north are lucky in that they enjoy 50 degree weather all the time except in summer.

    Medicine to Treat Deafness

Deafness is not a disease, but it's considered a handicap in the hearing world. I am getting stem cells to improve my hearing so I can cope better in the hearing world. Those in Deaf culture consider their Deafness as normal as hearing people consider their hearing.

That's why I am not interested in laptops. Desktops are faster, cheaper, more reliable, easy to repair/upgrade.

UCI Research with Cochlear Implants No Longer Falling on Deaf Ears

My observations is that the CI hype started dying in mid 2009 when news started comming out everyday about stem cells. The CI hype would look like a bell curve with a peak at 2009, a rapid increase from 2005-2009 and a rapid decrease from 2009 and onwards. The decline will be more rapid than the...
