Vicious hate crime attack on white 16-year old boy

I wish my boys used the peace method rather than the aggressive way. I have my hands full in the future in changing some of the behaviors they learned from their father. Keep in mind, that most people KNOW that anything can happen. They just think it won't happen to them. Case in point...

My son is getting a CI

Please remember also of his social life. If he is going to a school that is predominantly hearing, remember that he may be treated differently by other children who don't understand things, and in many cases, it leads to isolation. Regards and good luck!

    Give a little appreciation Guys

Please give your ladies a little appreciation now and then for the work they do, and tell them often they are beautiful and if you love them, tell them that. If you don't, chances are they feel worthless and insignificant.

    Hey Bott

I don't know about the vocal box but I do know that when I was without ANY sound, my speech was affected by my Deafness. Family and friends all told me that my speech changed, words were slurred or sounded like I mumbled a lot and I never spoke loud enough for people to hear me. They...

Jobs that are out of bounds for the HoH

Military regards hearing loss as a medical problem. They won't let people in if they have flat feet. They won't let people in if they can't see. They won't let people in if they have seizures. It goes on and on.

    Ghost thread - Any experiences?

I didn't move for a while. I kept my butt planted on the couch for a long time just staring at the light switch with my heart just pounding away.\ Gives me goosebumps thinking about that now and I'm imagining doing what you did for that year. Creepy crawlies.

Does sitting at a computer in the living room 15 feet away from the light switch to the kitchen, when suddenly the light turns on and there is noone near the kitchen; just me, the computer and the kitchen, which I can see into, count? or one night sleeping in bed and I feel something on my...

    Seperation/Divorce

I offer a suggestion that you both, for the sake of your child, go to a therapist to lay out your feelings to and work with to come up with a plan, and ways to come to a solution together to help your child. It's not about your husband or you, but your child, what's best for your child.
