    OMG! I've only read the first page of this thread, and what I've seen makes me embarrassed to be a "hearie!" Seriously. People are people. Why don't people (I'm talking about hearing people in this case) get that? Sheesh!

    1. I am hoping to take some ASL classes. I also have a Google search for "learn ASL" bookmarked on my computer, so I can do it on my own time. 2. In this case, I can only speak for myself. I am learning to sign, but it's my BF teaching me, so it's piecemeal, and it's mostly Signed English...

    Advice about a friend's FB status

    Pray for the child's wellbeing and that she find peace. Losing an ability later in life and all at once would be very traumatic. I would leave the rest out, but maybe sometime in the future you can have a talk with your friend and share your feelings. Jen M.

    Wow. That's awful. I'll admit I'm guilty of that sometimes with my BF (I'm hearing, he's deaf,) but when he points out what I'm doing, I correct it right away. I also recognize that I'm not always patient, and I am working on that. I'm sorry he treats you that way. It sounds like he does...
