Why can't there be a law protecting that? Don't wait until it is a reality to do something about it. It will be twice as hard to undo a bad trend than to stop it before it gets out of hand.

why would we have to do that? You see, those are foriegn languages. ASL is AMERICAN sign language. It should be offered at as early an age as possible. The kids who have siblings or other famly members that are autistic or deaf or have speech impairments, as well as Down Syndrome sufferers...

I know I offended some people when I suggested trying to put ASL in every school from preschool on up, but I really believe it would be a good thing. No deaf child would ever again be without a base of communication, and hearing children would think it was normal to communicate with the deaf.
