    Deaf Parents of Deaf kids

Ofc not. But, I also have a clue what it's like to be ridiculed for being different. I grew up wheelchair bound and come up against some nasty people in my time. Being bitter towards others is NOT going to help anyone. It won't help you; nor will it help to make people listen to you. I...

    Does CI affect some nerves?

Maybe because you've worked with these children? You also said you've never seen someone with issues. ..

    Deaf Parents of Deaf kids

How many have you observed? Did you communicate with that person to find out why they were so messed up? How do you know that it was the CI that caused their dysfunctional, and, not just normal teenage crap that ALL of us go through? Just so you know, I'm NOT an extremist. I believe that...

Court decides seniors can't reject Medicare

Right. I, for one, don't think it should be forced on someone, but that's just what I think. I don't like the idea of the government telling someone what they can/cannot do in this instance. Medicare is a mess, so why should someone be forced to use it if they can afford better benefits...

Court decides seniors can't reject Medicare

Medicare alone? No, you're right. That's why I said supplemental insurance, but yeah, if someone was eligible for medicare they would probably be using that as well.

Prop 8 has been ruled unconstitutional!!!!!

The ruling will be appealed. I don't think this will be decided for some time to come.

Court decides seniors can't reject Medicare

Maybe not, but you can bet that if they are eligible for it, they use it. They also have a TON of supplemental insurance, though.

    Dad update

Thank you. We've been on a rollercoaster. Things are really no better. The infection is gone, though, and he's more comfortable. That's all I really want for him now. I'm not sure what the next step is, but, I'm fully prepared for him to transition to hospice soon. He's been on home...

    Dad update

We're realistic. Chemo was a long, long shot. He chose to do it, but that doesn't mean it was going to improve his chances. Yes, the esophageal lesion is smaller, BUT, the liver is cancer ridden and we knew this upon diagnosis. Since diagnosis, there are more tumors on his liver and they...

    Dad update

I thought much like you did. In addition to this cancer, he has multiple other health problems that complicates everthing. I had hoped that the cancer would NOT be the thing that took him from us. Sadly, not only will it do that, but, he has one of the more aggressive forms of cancer known...

    Dad update

He hasn't improved, Fuzzy. He's actually worsened; I'm sorry to say. The only thing this surgery really did was remove the infection and make him more comfortable. It was our only reason for doing it. Otherwise, we would have let things take their course. We're still on that same path.

    Dad update

It is. I don't know what I want right now. For him to be OK (not possible), but also for him to be comfortable. This is a stubborn man, though, and last I heard, he wanted to fight the cancer. Not sure what his feelings are now... He has a Living Will signed, but, we haven't invoked it...
