Seconded! I know there are trans clothing exchanges! You could also try eBay. I'm queer and sometimes wear a binder. I got mine on eBay.

    Any one else bordeline ci

I agree it depends on what you mean by borderline. I am definitely within the range for a CI implant, but my sentence scores were right on the line. The surgeon told me I could wait a year or go ahead and do it now. I opted for now so I am getting my CI in my right ear Aug 29th. My right ear...

    Occupational therapy (ot)

OT's aren't like chiropractor or acupuncture. We help people become more independent by teaching them life skills, or skills to modulate their disability. We help people regain the use of their arms/fingers/hands/feet etc, teach physical skills such as wheelchair transfers, teach cognitive...

    Trying to help through design

I would say have an option where the user can change the microphone direction for speech to text. If I am in a group of people I might want it to pick up what everyone is saying, or I might want to focus on only what the person in front of me is saying, in which case I would not want the...

How do i explain i don't want my hearing aids?

Yay! So happy you found your hearing aid! I will not fault you for secretly not wearing them - its your choice whether to wear them or not but definitely keep them in a safe place while they aren't in your ears ^.^

    Trying to help through design

You have a spelling error in your graphic. It's "speech" not "speach" ^.^ Also you may want to change "hearing impaired" to "hard of hearing" because HOH people generally prefer that language. Speech to text glasses would be really helpful!

How do i explain i don't want my hearing aids?

I lost one of mine on a trip to New York - I had the (admittedly short-sighted) habit of taking them out and hooking them on the collar of my shirt. I did this on a bus and then walked 1/2 a mile before I realized it was gone. I learned my lesson that day.

How do i explain i don't want my hearing aids?

Hearing aids are super expensive! Which is probably why your parents are upset you lost them. It will be really hard to explain to your parents that you don't like them and that you do not want to wear them. I am sorry your teacher said that to you about a cochlear implant - because for one...

Telling another person "If you leave me I will kill myself" is emotionally abusive and one of the top 10 signs of an abusive relationship. You did the right thing to get out of that relationship.

    Deaf on ssdi

Jeez, I am sorry so many people in these threads are questioning the legitimacy of your disability and snarkily telling you to get a job instead of offering something that is actually helpful. You asked for assistance with making your life easier because you are struggling to pay your bills on...
