Even with a mild hearing loss you can see significant language delays. Don't scare people.

I HATE Dr. Chen. He told my I would have no quality of life if I didn't get a CI. Even when he knew that I am Deaf. I don't have a CI but I did look into it and decided not to go for it. Just not for me. I am a Torontonian too!

Here in Toronto we have a few DI's who do ASL/LSQ interpreting, apperently there is a high demand for them. We have a few DI's too...I am planning an event in a few weeks and we will have two DI's there.

Ear gear is fabulous - if you have skinny aids. I can't imagine it on a CI. Having said that, I am a big advocate for it. It has saved my aids from horses many times. I can't wear it daily though, since it makes my aids so much thicker.

Nope. I have 3 separate causes for my hearing loss and more genetic oddities than most. They don't question why my body does anything it does ;-) I don't really see ENT's that much. Haven't in a few years at least. I just see my audiologist who is fabulous and thinks my hearing loss is...

The demand is higher in multi-cultural places.

You are describing the apartment I live in right now. I am in Toronto too. It was 46 here today...and I work outside.

Even during your probation period you can't be fired for your hearing loss either.
