It is possible that advances in medical and other technology will "cure" the deafness. I can see that happening in the western world which can afford all that stuff. While the poorer 3rd world countries cannot afford it so there will always be deaf people somewhere in the world even in the far...

I agree some doctors try to make more $$ off their patients but don't forget that HMOs and other medical insurances and big pharmacies companies are making HUGE profits off the patients. So its a whole lot of folks sucking all the $$ out of the whole medical system. That sucks.

Mommy got german measles when she was preggy with me. So I was born sick, weighed 4 lbs and had to stay in hospital for 2 weeks to gain weight before go home. Mommy figured out that I was deaf at 8 mos. and had a doctor to confirm that as fact.

Ive met the creator of sextoon.com and he was a nice guy. He died several years ago in a car accident in which he was driving too fast going around a turn in the road and lost control of his car. I really enjoyed his sextoon.com cartoons...they were very funny!!:giggle:

The success rate for child molesters to rehabilitate is very low cuz sex starts in the brain which creates urges. Castration won't work becuz of this so I think all child molesters should have the sex part of their brains castrated so they won't have those urges ever again.

SSI is Social Security Income and its for people with disabilities like deafness, blind, etc. SSDI is for retirement and people who lost their jobs due to disabilities caused by injuries or illness but you have to show you worked a number of years to qualify first.
