    I mostly agree with what you said. However, I resent what you said about goths being atheist. My girlfriend and I are goths and we're Christians. Most goths I know are Christians, and the one in my avatar is Jewish.

    Maybe that's why I am not hated for hating my ex-girlfriend who happens to be deaf...... :P Seriously, though, good post! I totally agree with you. I learned ASL to socialize, not to run people's lives.

    From experience as a hearing person fluent in ASL, you're far more likely to be liked than scorned. Just remember that there are multiple forms of signing (ASL, PSE, SEE1, SEE2, etc.) and that not all deaf people like signing---if you look around this forum, you may notice that some deaf people...
