I've had that happen but thankfully my insurance did cover it.

    Wearing hearing aids to bed

I often wear mine to bed unintentionally because I fall asleep while talking with friends online. I do like being able to hear things like our pets and noises outside as we live in a bad area and often there is shouting. Also the other day while I was not wearing my aids the neighbours went out...

    Dream job

My dream job is counselling. I particularly want to work with people who have addictions. I doubt I can because of hearing issues and autism but I have a fair bit of knowledge about the area because of the effect it has had on my family. I was going to enrol in Bachelor of Counselling part time...

Awww my partner's dog is 8 too. She's a cute little black and white long haired chihuahua. I have one too but mine looks like a little fox in his colouring. He's 3.

    Do you love

I like my name because I chose it. I disowned my ***hole abusive family a few years ago and called myself the female French way of spelling a nickname I was given by friends and called for years. That way when anyone says or writes it I don't have to think to respond to it. My birth name is...

    Totally new to sign language!!

Sorry to hear about your injury. I also have had multiple traumatic brain injuries both in early childhood and in a car accident as an adult. I understand what it's like to have ongoing issues in many areas after an event like that although my hearing was affected as a little kid and is...

    RIP Tia Maria

I know what you mean. My heart still aches when I think about pets I've lost or been forced to rehome years ago. I have always had more of an affinity with animals than humans. Some have said to me that I have an instinctive ability to read animals body language and know what they're about to do...

    New app called Glide

I used it today. It's nice to have the personal touch of video but able to watch the video a few times to get it right unlike Skype where I ask people to repeat themselves over and over and sometimes end up asking them to spell it out to me or type.

    Totally new to sign language!!

Hi there. I joined this forum a while ago and then didn't post for ages so I feel pretty new myself. I'm sure not everyone agrees about stuff but there is still a place for people who want to learn about us. I'm a native English speaker but I also speak Spanish as my second language and yes I...

Thank you all for your support. I just spoke to her breeder who is upset too but she has a litter due around 27th which should be cream point boys and blue tortie point girls so when they are 6 weeks old I will meet them. I am still very upset but a little better after talking to her.

    Any cat lovers here?

I'm crazy about cats. My partner and I have 3. It feels weird to say that because until yesterday we had 4. Had my poor baby girl Tia put to sleep because of renal failure. Our remaining cats are a lilac point birman, a blue point ragdoll and a tabby and white moggy. We love them as our kids.

    RIP Tia Maria

Yesterday I had to have my 11 year old blue tortishell point birman kitty Tia put to sleep. She had stage 4 renal failure. I am absolutely devastated. She was like a child to me. Now nobody will wake me up by purring up my nose and rubbing her face all over mine and I'll never feel her gently...
