    abortion addict

Me neither. IMHO, the 'Abortion Addict' has/had a mental illness/mental issues, which manifested themselves with her through multiple, deliberate abortions. Other people's issues may manifest themselves through alcoholism, eating disorders, compulsive gambling- it could be anything, and it's...

    abortion addict

Cheri, are you counting people with depression in that statement? If so, I very much disagree.

The Lounge thread: Whatever you feel like......... Anything goes! Part XV

Yes, it's 2 years old next month! Good luck with your modelling oceanblue7! Lack of captions are my pet hate with iTunes film downloads- I don't know about the US but there's no option to select captions in the UK, when you download a film. Though I would have to squint to read them, it's...

Hard-of-hearing student makes transition to Erie school

Wow, I wish we'd had something like that when I was little. I never learnt sign language but in retrospect it could have been helpful in a noisy classroom. I think that's fantastic, she's not singled out or segregated in any way and the hearing students learn a new skill as well.

    What's your dinner tonight?

Mmmm inspirabull that sounds delicious! Yay for snow! It's just cold and dark and damp here. Hmm, there's an idea- maybe I could make a pasta bake with it. It tastes kind of parsnippy/sweet and is thick a bit mushy. I don't like nuts, except extra-salty cashew nuts. When I was vegan I found...

Dumb access denial excuses for your service dog

This isn't about service dogs per se, but is an anecdote from my dad. He wear prescription sunglasses, and was out shopping one day, with the family dog. He went into a shoe shop, as he saw no sign on the door saying dogs were forbidden. He looked around at the shoes, and the dog lay down on...

    What's your dinner tonight?

Hehe, where do you live? I haven't made it yet, I have to make the main meal first but I haven't decided what to make. We have some leftover soup in the fridge which has celery in (ick) and I blended it and put curry powder in for a passable lunch, but there's lots of the original soup left and...

The Lounge thread: Whatever you feel like......... Anything goes! Part XV

I have the first generation iphone, and it's on it's last legs- the battery won't last a whole day, and I have 3 or so applications on it at the moment. Any more makes it painfully slow. When I have the money I'd like the iphone 3GS.

    What's your dinner tonight?

I didn't say you dislike leeks, I meant that you'd reminded me of my opinion of them, with the picture! :p

    What's your dinner tonight?

It's just after 5pm here, and I haven't decided yet- suggestions? I constantly make chili or curry and I want to do something new. I do know that I have some packaged mixed berries to make a crumble with, for dessert. I'm thinking of putting cocoa powder into the crumble mix and mixing broken...

    What are you thinking about?

Thanks, dogmom :-) I'm not doing any of the talking but I'm hoping I can hear ok, and people don't start arguing too much! Moondrifter, I'm sorry for your loss. I too think a counsellor would help you greatly at this sad time. Kickboxing sounds fun! Glad your hubby's better, dogmom. We tend...

    Happiness

Yes, you can't change other people- you can only be responsible for yourself. I don't know if hearing = happiness for me, but I can say that understanding communication from other people towards me, makes my life a lot easier. Happiness as an abstract concept is another thing entirely. I agree...

    What are you thinking about?

How I'm comfy in bed watching The Simpsons with Monty curled up and purring at the end of the bed. (It's only 8pm but I'm tired!). I'm hoping that my group lecture/talk goes well tomorrow.

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

I'm not late-deafened but I love the wheel of fortune analogy- I'm usually fine one-on-one in a quiet room but crowds result in exactly what you said, sallylou! I go to a weekly class to build self-confidence for people who've been out of work for a while, and I'm actually too scared to tell the...
