Lucia, I didn't know what spacers were when I had my first surgery in 2002....they are also known as positioners and they are inserted in order to help hold in the electrodes... It has been determined that the use of one is no longer mandatory...so they very rarely, if at all, use them...

I don't know, but I do know that when I was at Blockbuster last, there was NOT ONE COPY on the shelves.

DO make sure you have your meningitis immunizations, and ensure that they do not use any spacers of any kind in your surgery... Otherwise, I can't think of anything that no one has covered already in this thread...do make sure that this is what you want though - no straddling the fence on...
