What is the best way to learn sign language?

Another thing I've just thought of, is that I am having a full length mirror put on the wall near to my desk. That way I can see what my signing looks like as I'm doing it. Right now, I only see from my perspective, and can't see how it'd look to someone else. (though technically since it's a...

What is the best way to learn sign language?

True, the first time I went, I had a friend with me who also wanted to go. After that, I am fine going by myself when my friend cannot go. And the up-side is that we have made many new friends.

What is the best way to learn sign language?

There is also a sticky at the top of this section with online resources. Which can help, although I feel in-person learning is the best option if you can find it. Definitely check out whether there are Deaf socials/coffees near you.

    Allergies? Fluid in your Ear?

It's really a sort of "new age" type of treatment, although its use dates far back. Now, I am a "new age" type so have been curious about many things of this kind. The problem is that there is no proven benefit, and in fact, there have been more reports of damage. It is supposed to...

Best States To Find A Partner? (For the ladies)

I'm from NH originally, so I remember cold. I'm not totally a fan of Florida weather though as it's hot and humid for far too long. I lived in Arizona for six years and loved it - although that was hot as well. Dryer heat though. When I first moved there - it had true desert weather...

    I LOOOOVE True Blood!

Of course the BIG question with True Blood is.... Eric? or Bill? (sort of reminds me of the same question for Lord of the Rings (LOTR): Aragon? or Legolas?

What are your favorite science fiction movies?

Battlestar Galactica - the newer series. Okay, not exactly a movie... Still, it remains one of my all time favorites. Also kept me entertained during a period when I was pretty much bed-ridden.

Do we have a challenge ahead of us to avoid becoming Hearing?

Hmmm, I think I'd prefer: Deaf can do anything. I know - the "except hear" drives a point home. But it's ending the slogan/saying with a negative - that's the part I don't like much.

Irony that Lightning struck a tree at the Caylee Anthony!!!

I agree that it's best to not discuss this topic on here. However, I disagree that we have to "accept it and get over it". That's all I will say about the topic from now on.

What Are You Reading Right now?

Kristina, Let me know how Dead Reckoning is! I've not read that one yet. I think after I finish my present book, I'll start with Book One and read them all, and then read #11.

I'm a hearing girl, how do I build a friendship with a deaf guy

It's been a LONG time since I've dealt with "boys" (or even dating) but I suspect things are still the same. When a boy/guy/man gives you his phone number, he's interested.
