i've been myself for almost 4 years with the comunity now, I... don't think a person that doesn't know SL (sign language), could be inserted normaly in the deaf culture. that's like me, living in US, wanted to be inserted in their culture not knowing english. SL is probably the most important...

thanks souggy! Some ppl say here, that an interpreter gets closer to be "deaf" if we don't move our lips... Some, for instace, enunciate half of the word. In english is different, becaus you have usually short words, but in spanish, for instance would be- english: person spanish...

im not deaf. i wish i could see the world as deaf ppl do, though. so i can get the whole thing. im "too" hearing. i wish i could learn to be more "visual"

Hi. Reading bunch of interesting stuff comming from deaf culture (american, specially, i assume) Im ArSL interpreter. the site looks fantastic so far i hope to behave. in advance, pls forgive my lousy english:aw: :wave:
