And that is exactly how it should be. My children hate doing any chores in our house, should I not make them do anything just because they do not want to.

You just admit that each child is different but then you think all deaf kids need to receive their educaiton in ASL, so what is it are they all different when it suits your needs or explanation or what.

My children feel that way for the AVT therapist. They love her. They do not need to see her anymore but they always ask when are going to go see her. I see her a lot and the kids say it is not fair. And see since my kids saw her after school, it was great for everything.

You are assuming things you assume us more oral person value oral before anything else and this is where you are so wrong. What you do not understand is that oral and education can and do go hand in hand.

You might think that just a few kids succeed but it's not, it is so many that you just have a hard time accepting it.

Rick, this is why some of us oral teachers of deaf refer our students kind of late to other programs because we know that if they go to a state school for the deaf, they will not work at all on developing oral skills. So unless we find a balance the oral side is always going to be on one side...

I agree it is my job as a parent to still values in my children, I do not want the school instilling their values on my children.

I have never ever nor will ever say that ASL is evil just because that is not what I choose for my children does not mean I think it is evil.

Double tree I agree with you completely. I think Shel is a great role. I do not think that Shel should an oral teacher of the deaf because she does not believe in oral only education not because she is deaf just because she doesn't believe in it.
