There are a lot of activities that one could use ham radio for that doesn't require hearing for such as: TTY, PSK, Packet Radio, SSTV, and others. Hell, I'm sure you could rig up a light to your radio and copy CW from the light. I don't see why a deaf person couldn't be a ham op, its fun thats...

I'm currently surviving on about $12,000 a year while a the same time going to school. You just get into the habit of pinching pennies and being very frugal. If I was making 20K right now, I'd be pretty happy.

And I wouldn't want an oralist teaching my deaf/hoh children. This argument goes both ways, there is no certification requirement for ASL to be a teacher for the deaf... I don't want my children taught by a teacher who cannot communicate with them in a proficient manner.

PSE and SEE are deffenatly the best route when signing an English song, I'm just saying it's irritating when the title states the song is done in ASL when, in fact, its not.
