    I didn't mean "every parent", but I think some do feel this way. This does not mean that they can't accept their deaf child or that they don't love him; on the contrary, they love him so much and, having lived his deafness with him, are so sympathetic to him that they are struggling the same way...

    I don't see how parents could help, apart from just listening a little and staying the closer they can. Sometimes they are more depressed about our deafness than we are ourselves.

    "I met deaf people that, before CI, used HAs, and they could hear. Of course they couldn't hear well AS I CAN, but they could hear with their HAs, because they had a residual hearing." It's not worth discussing. Just buy a dictionary.

    Mi hai appena dato ragione. Cochlear implant is NOT a prosthesis. It is a device that requires an invasive surgery, and guess what? who gets it? Those who cannot benefit from HAs.

    The word itself! One is deaf when one cannot hear anything AT ALL. If you have a hearing loss there's plenty of words you can identify with, like HOH, hearing impaired, etc. Music and prosthesis DO NOT exist when you are "really deaf".
