The ear hook is fine to leave. I've never had one block on me before and it shouldn't be a problem if you keep good care of your hearing aids.

I really couldn't get on with vent. I suddenly went from hearing quite well to being able to only hear loud sounds with a pressure vent. It was awful :/ I also had loads of feedback. I truly think vents don't allow you to hear well in noise from my experience.

I'm not too sure. Depends if you have to pay to get them set for you loss etc etc. There is a repair lab that has been posted on this forum before that is in the US and people have used. The repair lab will have any HA no matter what.
