    Recruitment and Hearing Aids

Skeleton molds are custom made to fit your ear canal and the Concha portion of your ear to basically "lock" them in and are customized to fit your hearing loss by either putting in different size vents to allow LF sound in or no vents if your LF hearing loss is above I believe 40dB.

New hearing aids - brand recommendations

Only you are going to know which hearing aid is going to be right for you. Since you are used to the Oticon sound you may find other HA's sound not right for you. For me I found Phonaks sound to be very mechanical, but Oticon's was very natural. Bernafon also has a similar sound to Oticon...

    Explaining my question more clearly

Red is right, blue is left. Yes, it matters whether you have the right HA in the right ear, unless you have identical loss in both ears which is highly unlikely. I don't know about your ears, but my left and right ears are different and my left mold will only fit comfortably in my left ear and...

    newbie earmold questions

You have a left and right HA and you have either left and right earmolds or tubes, they should not fit comfortably in the wrong ear. If you feel you're going to put the wrong one's in the wrong ears, get some blue and red nail polish, paint or permanent markers and put a red and blue dot on the...

    Audiogram

I had a similar experience with antibiotics. I already had a severe/profound hearing loss in the HF and started to develop pneumonia while I was in the hospital with a broken back and 5 ribs, the antibiotic did it's thing but made my hearing loss worse.

    Audiogram

If your loss is around 70dB for most frequencies than you have a moderately severe to severe hearing loss. Take a look at the "speech banana" and it will become very clear what you have lost. Hearing aids are going to help, but they won't make your hearing like it was before your infection and...

    Audiogram

Can you post your audiogram? If you have been on antibiotics(many are ototoxic), some of your hearing loss could be attributed to it's use.

How is Star Wars The Last Jedi?

The movie jumped around way too much! Saw it on Christmas Eve with about 25 other people in the theater, we all seemed to come out a little unimpressed. Too bad they didn't bring in GL to actually write the screen play or use his original screen play since supposedly he has had the story boards...

    Retiring truck?

First MPV was a 91, second one was a 2003. '91 also had a rear end differential clunk that Mazda could never fix, but it never caused any problem other than being there when you first put it in gear and each time it shifted. The 2003, also had a hard shift, also a clunk that was in the...

    Retiring truck?

Both of our Mazda's began having oil leak issues when they had less than 50K on them and they would be fixed for a while and then start leaking again. Wiring issues have been an ongoing issue in our MPV and they started when the vehicle had about the same amount of miles on them. They are Ford...

    Retiring truck?

If you plan on keeping the car for a number of years, I would stay away from Mazda's. I have had two and Mazda's are known to have constant valve cover leaks and wiring issues.

    Why Apologize?

I'm always upfront with people regarding my hearing issues and tell them if I don't respond to something, it's not that I'm not paying attention, it's that I might not hear them or understand what they said. Since most people want to be heard, they will do what they need to do so they are heard.
