Here is the thing... to those who were born deaf... like me... to read and hear "hearies" that we are broken and that we need to be "fixed" in order to "survive" in the hearing world... what a load of HS. I know a lot of Deaf people that are fine in the hearing world that don't need to be fixed...

I didn't know they had different kinds of hearing aids? I knew they had other brands too, but what you guys mention, I have never heard of it.

Well fixing it ain't gonna help being the "larger society" really can't seem to accept us as we are, truly sad. We have accepted them, why can't they accept us as we are?? Marginalize it? Yup, that what it sums up!

They look similar but with different color and style. The Phonak I have now, the sounds are not loud enough for me, I am having a hard time hearing, I think Beltone might be a better option for me personally.

I have one HA and for me Beltone worked the best, I have Phonak for almost 2-3 years now and now... they are not doing nothing for me as sound goes. They told me it is supposed to be waterproof, who are they kidding here?? LOL Anywho I think I need to go back to Beltone HA. Anyone else think...

ermmm.... i would tell you what I am doing but I will sound like a broken record. lol

I am severe/profoundly deaf in my right and moderate to severe on my left with ha. ha can only do so much help at this point. I dont hear everything with ha.

I hope you make it to Gallaudet. I wanted to go to MSSD when I was 15 years old, told me that I was not "deaf enough" I didnt know you had to be in a certain deafness, when in fact I am DEAF without my HA. ahhhh... if only.
