What's Your Biggest Frustration in the Tech World?

No.. EVERYTHING is on the home network. The scanner we have is actually part of the big printer/scanner/fax (I think? gotta look). And physically attached to dad's computer. My computer is in another room. I guess I could use his Mac (and he's said it's ok) but I don't feel right in doing...

    Person Below Me

I have no idea. Wait no... when I had the "Orange Boys" (2 orange tabbies I miss them), they never really interacted with dogs except when my aunt visited with her silky terrier Charlie. Charlie barked his head off at them, Bailey was shaking so badly and I am pretty sure Sebby hissed at him...

What's Your Biggest Frustration in the Tech World?

I've been looking for something similar as there's so many pictures I eventually want to scan and catalogue digitally (including old photos from ancestors) or at least a small portable scanner with maybe a USB drive or some way to upload to cloud (although for my needs I'd need a large amount of...

If there were a cure for hearing loss would you take it

Even if they had done or are doing all of those things, not everyone's hearing with a CI will- or can- 'continue to improve for even years'. Not only that... it seems that in general- those who were late deafened tend to see better improvement than those who were born deaf or deaf very early...

Well hello. No question to answer So I'll restart- TPBM- have you ever done something just to get something free like a T-Shirt? (the week-long coding/software engineer experience I wanted to do anyway- free t-shirt is a bonus!)

What's Your Biggest Frustration in the Tech World?

20 years? Rare I see software last that long as there's always so many updates between making it compatible with newer OSes (as well as making them backwards compatible- I think Windows 10 is supposed to have that ability...) as well as introducing new features or fixing new unexpected bugs...

No being gay is not a choice.

The problem with that as many LGBT can attest is that the religious people/'bible thumpers' try to actually cram that ideology down other people's throat. The aim is to get them to stop doing that.. it's fine they want to believe that but don't force it on other people (apparently some also...

    Hearing Aid's Channels Discussion

Hmmm I have 5 'programs' (or at least I can cycle through five different beep tones...) I only usually use the first 2... 'regular volume/every day listening' and the T-Coil. I've no idea what the others do. They all sound the same to me.

A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part III

I avoid siri (and Cortana) like the plague lol. I have High Sierra- really nice. I'm sure there's some stuff I haven't touched/explored yet. Was trying to do that and do all my courses/projects/homework at the same time lol

    Public access to accessible communications/technology

ZVRS/Purple, Sorenson and Convo all have PC or Mac apps that you can download. There's a 4th one but I can't remember the name. All 3 are good though I tend to use ZVRS. Z/P and Sorenson have standalone devices while Convo doesn't. Good luck :)

What's Your Biggest Frustration in the Tech World?

Sometimes you can find newer versions of driver for older scanners or printers- depending on how old they are. Check on the manufacturer's website to see if there are any updated drivers. I believe there are some sites also who curate older drivers etc. I don't recall which ones are on the...

    Public access to accessible communications/technology

It may help if one were made available in smaller towns (similar to say computers and printer usage in the public library) as smaller towns/rural areas sometimes don't have good high speed internet. I don't know how much usage it may get if it's a standalone- like the Z70. Hmm never thought of...

Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best online course provider for a hard of hearing person?

I don't know... there are some online programs that offer degrees... or in IT offer certificates. In general most do meet the needs for deaf/hard of hearing- but you do need to ask a few questions- 1. Are there videos? If so are they captioned (Sometimes they get away with the "auto...

Surprised your avatar didn't take- maybe too big? As for deleting... most forums won't allow you to do that unfortunately. I used to tell people who wanted to delete their account- change the password to something you'll probably forget then delete the bookmark. In really extreme cases I...
