Help the deaf to listen and talk!

I can see why some people don't like the term "oral"... it just feels so negative considering the history of deaf education... I know I always say "I grew up oral" but shudder every time I do it and wonder if there's a better way to say that. But fleeting as I don't mention it that often except...

Where do deaf people go to look for or post jobs?

To be honest most of the time I don't know what happens to my resume or if they ever made it to HR or Hiring manager. I DO know one I gave to a neighbor of my aunt's- he walked it to HR and it's there as told to my aunt. I had already applied to one job there and I need to look again. Another...

Did you know that people who suffer hearing loss are more prone to developing dementia?

In the meantime keep yourself busy... read, do puzzles (Jigsaw, crossword, sudoku), find an activity that will keep you occupied and mind busy.

    Amazingly stupid question about CI's.

Hehehehe. I did that once or twice, back when I was attending my first course in Computer Programming. I used an FM System at that time (and not an interpreter though looking back I wish I had). There were a few times I had to run to the bathroom down the hall... and still heard the lecture...

What are you doing right now? Part II

    "i'm a little bit deaf"....

Ahh.. so.. one must provide suggestions along with their opinions every time? I think that's all it is with many people's posts on "They should do X, Y and Z"- it's their opinion. I see the same with other topics- like coding practices or ahh my favorite "the proper way to code this or that"...

What's Your Biggest Frustration in the Tech World?

Sort of yes, "easy" enough to scan pics from the all in one printer/scanner from the LED panel and tell it to send to my PC. It's just a pain in the ass to do for my own reasons.

Profoundly deaf - anyone like me, have CI?

JClarke has had his CI for 5 years. I'm sure by now any issues would have come up. And I'm also sure he's aware and knows his own situation. I'm sorry that you yourself are having issues. No technology, procedure, surgery, therapy, medication etc is perfect or 100% effective.
