What is the one thing which would make the biggest difference in the quality of your life?

Me too. Not sure if it is state-wide, but it is in the county I live in.

Using the Cloud on your phone or computer

How do you utilize the Cloud on your phone? I know most (if not all?) use it as storage. If I wanted to transfer files and photos to the Cloud, how is that done, and how do I retrieve said items? I have an iPhone, but I'm sure the same applies for androids.

New here and to the deaf community

I have a profound loss at 115 dB loss. That is about as deaf as you can get. :) having said that, my super awesome ReSound hearing aids put me in the 40-50 dB range when I’m wearing them. So I hear a lot of sound, although I get no clarity from it. Telephone is still out for me. Can hear it ring...

    Tinnitus is driving me insane.

Tinnitus does not cause hearing loss. It is the brain’s way of compensating (usually negatively) for lack of or diminished sound. It is not a physical phenomenon, it does not cause the actual hearing loss. Your hearing loss came first.

    Hearing loss Pet Peeves!

I can’t tell you how many times I have faked understanding people. I usually just nod and smile and I have no idea what was said. I try to read their body language. It’s when they look at me quizzically and don’t go away that I have to say, “ok? What? Say it again?” I’m sure I have left people...

    Hearing loss Pet Peeves!

#2 and 3 for me. People will almost scream at me or put their lips close to my ear, and I have to back away so I can lipread. Talking louder helps me none! OMG, the phone thing. It’s taken a while, but I have it down pat with most of my doctors or other professionals now to either email or...

    Tinnitus is driving me insane.

Stress or tiredness are known to be major factors, as well as many other factors. I very rarely get tinnitus, but when I do, it’s very annoying, so I feel for those who have it often or regularly. I do have some hearing (with my HAs, that is) so I purposely will play music or turn the TV up...
