We had a nice 45 degree morning -- the past week or two it had been in the 30's in the mornings. We have not hit above 50 even in day time temps in a week or so now.

I get that too. I tell people that I’m deaf, and then I surprise them by understanding (lipreading) them and speaking, they’re totally confused!

Valorrian, one question: are you looking for an ASL-interpreted church? I just ask because I thought you indicated in your other posts that you don't know ASL yet. If you're just looking for "down the road", that's great! (and I apologize if I'm wrong about you not knowing sign yet.)

Gloomy out today, about 45 degrees. Definitely feels very fall-like. Been on bed rest a few days, so now is a good time for this gloomy weather.

I wouldn’t even look. Just let someone fall in your lap. It could be anywhere. Perhaps your church. There’s even been some romances that have blossomed right from this forum. A few went on to get married. Stay away from dating sites. I’ve never done those but don’t want to. I hear of too many...

To the person that asks nicely, and not in a mocking way or outright insists I must be fixed, I simply say I am deaf or that I have a hearing loss. And that I wear hearing aids to help. I certainly don’t say I have broken ears.

That is somewhere along the lines of my point too. I, and many of us here, will occasionally get the dumba$$ that insist that we must be fixed. I can’t even think of the last time someone said it to me. That’s why I was saying I don’t care what others think, whether they think I need to be fixed...

Oh, more mudslinging on the Deaf. Apparently we have issues and insecurities, angry and hateful if we’re offended by being called broken. Fact is, many of us aren’t interested in what hearing people view us as. I’ve gone through my life fully capable and happy as a deaf and Deaf person, hence...

I remember that story. It made big news at that time. She was a pretty woman. Sad. But I understand her choices.
