The Williams Sonoma called and left 2 messages...

And they said, "This message is for Phyllis, if she wants the job
we have available today for her, tell her to call us back at
901-546-**** "

And they did not leave me any message....

See I told you guys and I told my mom and my sister who
bug me everyday "Get a job."

So see the world is full of cruel people, not have compassion....

So anyway, I don't have any regret of what I had done in the
past... it was the right thing to do....

Like fighting hard for SSI and food stamp, because people out there
won't give me a job.

So now, all I have to do is just pay off these College Loans, these
college degrees are worthless.... I guess I throw them in the garbage.

Just go out and travel around the world and get myself a new
bedroom furnitures :giggle:
 
Seem ure afraid to get a job but in the end u laughed. I don't understand u. Huh?
 
She's not afraid to get a job.. Most jobs want people with a lot of expierence.. and it is hard for people who are fresh out of college or looking for work.

I understand it. It's tough no matter where you are :)

At least I went out and tried....

Just like I went out and try to get rid of this "What if " off my mind...

I went out to Chicago DeafNation Expo, and tried to sell my DVDs...
and I didn't succeed.... because I was so tired, tired, tired... I drove allllll the way from Memphis to Chicago, all by myself. And I set up the booth alll by myself.... and I pulled those heavy suitcases full of DVDs, and I struggled and stuggled, and then when it was time to sell my stuff...
I grew tired of talking to people....

I was in a complete exhausion, and my mouth was dry and I feel like I was dehydrated... because I didn't drink enough water within 48 hours.

All it matters is, at least I tried.

And at least I filled up those job applications... and I stood up a long time
and took my time filling a little cup with urine...

All the energy I put into that.... and I didn't get credit for doing those things...

It is the small minded people out there that won't give me a chance...

And speaking of self fulfilling prophecy, People are the one putting me
down... they said I can't do this, I can't do that....
They wouldn't give me the job, they wouldn't buy my DVDs, they
didn't give me anything I try to work hard for...

I am so sick and tired of people always blaming me, and thinking that
is all I do is sit at home and do nothing....

I don't want to sit at home and do nothing.... I wish people
would give me a chance...

If that is true that all I do is sit at home and do nothing, then
why did I work so hard to get those 2 college degrees???

Why would I have self fulfilling prophecy??? If I have that, then
I would not waste my time getting those college degrees.

I got those college degrees, because I believe that I will get a good job...
but society put me down so many times.

Just like those UPS deaf drivers, they gotta go to court and sued UPS
which trying to take their job away...

Have you thought about getting career consulting of some sort? There are ways you can definitely land a job related to the degrees you have. I have several career advisors as friends, and I often keep in touch with them for their advice. They like to use my advice too, so it's a mutually beneficial thing.

Maybe you could try that? Hope it helps!
 
Sorry, I left room and couldn't help thinkin... Now coming back....

When I apply for my current job. I left application, Guess what? They never called back. So, I called them, they said they will call back,. so I gave them little time... still not calling back, I called them, they finally decided to arrange for an interview. So, I went there for an interview. Heard nothing afterward, I called them to keep following up... after every week of calling them, the 6th call,,,. know what they said? "We was waiting to see how assertive you are before we hire you, since your kept bugging us, this proves us you wanted this job so here is this offer!" That is when I took their offer and start working with them!

What does this means? You can NOT simply drop off an application, contact then expect them to call back. Most of companies do NOT do that! They rarely call back but very few of them do, yet not as often as you'd like.


A month ago, I applied for a well known company. Had a decent interview with them. After 3 weeks of not hearing from them. I decided to e mail them in nice way... Let them know if they found somebody better qualified for them, I told them that I hope they found right person which is better qualified for them. Three days later, they offered me job!

So, again, if you just sit and waiting for the phone to ringing.. then I feel sorry for you! cause you won't be getting any response. I almost can guarantee you that!

Cause one day.... what if Williams Sonoma decided to ship
jobs oversea??? Especially Fed Ex... what if they decide to
ship jobs oversea too.

Then they gonna cry out "UNFAIR!!!"

Look at what happen to Blockbuster stores, most of them shut down,
and look at their stock market... zoom down almost down to zero,
and that company is depending on us Internet people to use Blockbuster.com
.... but you got PPV.

Look at what happen to Kmart, Most of them SHUT DOWN, and look at CompUSA, shut down, even some Department stores shut down...

One of these days.... if I see those people again, and they have no jobs, I'm gonna laugh at them....
 
If your living in area with very high crime activity, sure these stores will shut down because they can't afford losing money to shoplifters. In my area, safe area, they are BOOOOOMING like crazy I don't see wal-fart, Blockbusters, fedex, compusa, etc going out of business... PLUS some companies are moving back to here from China!!! They all starting to realize that with high cost of oil, time consuming custom inspections, etc etc that is hurting their business...

Yeah Violent Crimes and Juvenile Crimes are UP 34% and Crime with guns
are UP 19%... in MEMPHIS AREA....

Wow.

I think it is my fault, I told some Criminals why not be a Career Criminals
since there are too many Background Check and people won't hire
Criminals nowadays.

Let the Taxpayers be frustrated :pissed: paying high taxes and building more
prisons in their neighborhood.... :giggle:

But anyway... more and more people will want to shop online than
to go to the Mall or go to Department stores, because of gas prices are high...
Especially Overstock.com, they have $1 shipping.:eek3:
 
I hate to say this, but I agree with Diehardbiker here.

But, on the other hand you have to decide if you want to find a good job or go back to training or college education to increase your employability.

Most good paying jobs prefer to hire people who have skills, experience, achievements and qualified for that position.

If you want the job so bad, then be aggressive, call them, bug them, show them you are really interesting in working for them. :thumb:

I just couldn't help but ponder about this - Why didn't you put your education on the application? That alone could have helped you get a better job instead of nothing at all.

I rather whine and whine and whine, and tell people how cruel
they treated me, anyway.

Jobs there at Williams Sonoma, they won't hire people who are
over qualify.
