Student got arrested in a major drug bust at Gallaudet University

How's that? I've been very consistent about my position regarding this entire bust.

There's over 17 pages to this thread and what stands out for me is your support for her on a personal level as if she is a really close friend or an ex......I could be and have been wrong before....

but, at Gally, they AREN'T KIDS!, they are roughly 18-22 year olds, hardly kids...

AND whats more it is BOUND that they are going to be SMOKING pot at some stage or another...hell the 31 woman was probably a slow learner if not intellectually but as n maturity (which oftentimes happens to d/Deaf youths) she was probably doing them a favour that to buy small amounts of dope rather out in the street where Washington DC has one of the highest rates of gunshot violence in USA...

its silly to say "selling to kids' as a dealer, she had bugger all, not much...i knew real life dealer who was tapping to half a million of herbs (and no, i wasnt involved), just was 'given samples lol' that was 20 years ago or so...

but the thing is, its stupid to say 'she selling to kids' she wasnt!, to me, she was just a slightly older 'kid' at the uni

maybe im wrong on that one, but news media can really paint a different picture...

absolutely not. she's a criminal. I do have a sympathy for drug user but none for a drug dealer.

a drug dealer living in college? are you kidding me? what if parents' kids died from her drugs? absolutely unforgivable. it should be a death penalty if that happened but fortunately nobody died. I'm disgusted by the fact that she will serve 1 year in prison. absolutely disgusted. should increase it to 2 years.

are you from thailand?

I have clearly defined my relationship with her. Maybe you need to re-read the thread.

There are some students, earlier as 16 years are Gally student.

Gally has two division - MSSD and KDES on SAME campus - means toddlers to adults on same campus.

Gallaudet University serves deaf and HoH students with some hearing students, especially ASL and interpreter program. They do have two departments - MSSD to serve 9th to 12th grade and KDES to serve preschool to 8th grade.

It has been for many years - more than 50 years.

I checked the data base, they have amended the sentence and suspended the 12 months confinement. My source says it was for pills though. Also, there is a possibility Federal Charges will still be filed.

THIS is correct. I misspoke earlier. I was thinking the 3 years supervised release was house arrest or similar after her probation sentence. I had my wires crossed for a moment. In addition to the 2 years probation sentence, Molly can get it reduced considerably if she does all that she's supposed to do.

My source says it was for pills though.

Your source is wrong. All five pills charges were dropped. You're stuck on the pills. She's been vindicated.

Also, there is a possibility Federal Charges will still be filed.

That would be unfortunate if true but I don't see it realistically happening.

This is the same source that confirmed the pills were found which was later verified by the charges. Nothing and no one have been vindicated. The charges were dropped by plea....it's not like a jury of her peers found her not guilty.

Seeing that she served no jail time. Federal charges are something I will be advocating for. The DC courts failed at achieving justice here.

I do not disagree that it was a plea bargain. You must be one of those people who classify those as guilty if they plea bargain. Plea bargaining is an option that allows a DA or defendant to work out a deal because NEITHER side's case is strong enough to be fully and indisputably enforced. She CANNOT be re-tried for it.

I think the DC courts got it right. Funny how people can be on complete opposite sides of the spectrum yet are both extremely punitive towards criminals in our justice system. Go figure.

ah, Thats Not Galludet University
..are you sure its on the SAME location campus?!

I attended MSSD and if you wanna be all TECHNICAL about it... you have to enter Gallaudet in order to get to KDES/MSSD campus. They are all confined within the same fence from the outer world. There are NO fences dividing KDES/MSSD from Gallaudet.
