So I just ordered new ear molds for the football season, yeah Black and Yellow for my hawkeyes, we looked in my AUdis book for ear gear or anything like it and I told them I just look online, close to $30.00 for one set of Black Ear Gear, anyone know of some place cheaper??? That is ridiculous! Im already in $150 for the pair of ear molds. Id hate to pay that much just for something to go over the aids themselves...
 
Very cool about the black and gold! But I don't think there is any source of cheap Ear Gear.

They are very sturdy however, and you won't really need to replace them.

Good to know thanks Bottes! Guess I will just eat the cost! Yeah I am super excited to get them Ill take pics when I do!
 
My Audi is giving them to me at the cost of what they get them for which is 17.99. Better than 30 :)

Very exciting... my audi is in the habbit of giving me batteries just for fun every time I go in, would love to get ear gear though... but it is quite expensive... even if i didn't have to replace them, i'm not sure that I would like to spend that much on them... because we aren't sure how much longer my HA's will even work for me...

Thats what happened to me, when I first got HAs the ones my Audi gave me didnt have enough gain and I had them maxed out in no time with the way my hearing was decreasing! So I switched to a new Audi, I LOVED it there, but they closed down and referred me back to the one I started with, talk about luck huh?? So I just roll with the punches. Hopefully you will get to stay with the aids you have for a lil while longer before having to get new ones. Gets very costly! Maybe the ear gear will help keep my aids from crapping out on me :) we shall see, just glad I wont have to have beige anymore hahaha

Do you want them for the protection or as a way to change color of the aid itself? I can't help but think it would be fun to wear different colors with different outfits; but at that price! So, it has occurred to me to see what could be done as a DIY project just for fashion not protection.
 
Since the stuff we are talking about here isn't exactly mass-produced, yer gonna pay....lol

well I have the strongest aids i can get, Naida s UPs, its just that my hearing is leaving me so quickly we aren't sure how much longer I will get usefulness out of any aids. (these aids are only a couple months old too)

Yah that sucks! I have the Destiny 1200s so im going to assume when I get to the top of these thats it... c'est la vie!

if they are the power plus ones, then prob... thats how it is with these... but life goes on, ASL is always an option!

oh I agree!! I was always getting frustrated with reading lips, because of how much I missed, but since getting involved in the Deaf community and learning sign language, I feel like I'm home, and I understand so much more in Sign Language than I do with spoken language. Its really hard for me on the phone, because I have a problem actually understanding spoken language without reading lips, but ASL has made me feel wonderful!!! I am no longer dreading going profoundly deaf, I know I will be perfectly fine (part of me wishes my residual hearing would just hurry up and run away)!!
