actually I'm confused and mentally torn. When I saw "Alaskan Governor"... that pretty much made me lost some respect for McCain. First thing that came into my mind - oh... lemme guess.. ANWR and Oil. Well since she's a nobody and I don't know anything about her except she's a NRA staunch supporter naughty and a former mayor of some small-ass Alaskan town.

boy... and I thought Obama is unproven, untested, and inexperienced well I'll have to get to know more of her as the time goes. You know - I was actually writing preliminary rebuttal for Jillio last nite (sorry it's not published yet). Somewhere in the report was - Obama as a young inexperienced man getting older, experienced VP. McCain as a old-fart experienced man getting younger, inexperienced VP..... a ploy to win the hearts and minds of Americans.

I can't believe what I'm seeing is a coincidence.

I'm surprised at this turn of events, but it is definitely a logical move on McCain's part. If I was a Republican, I'd be delighted he picked a woman as a VP -- as a Democrat, I am glad McCain can't use the excuse that Obama is inexperienced without sounding like a moron.

You've already listed those points over and over. What you have refused to address is your claim that his vision is first, Marxist, and then revised to Socialist.

Picking a woman was a move designed to, no doubt attempt to sway those Clinton supporters his way by playing on the gender issue. I would hope that the American public is not so shallow as to be swayed by an issue such as gender, which should be no more of a concern than color.

Hopwever, it would have been much more effective if he had picked a woman who did not meet the "inexperience" criterion that he has repeatedly applied to his opponent. Two years in office and the mayor of a city of 8,500 residents?

He made his historic impact last night, and supported the fact that it is much more than rhetoric. They were turning people away from the stadium. McCain, on the other hand, had to send out buses to try and round up 15,000 people to attend his rally today in Dayton. And they still couldn't fill the arena.

And, McCain is 72 years old. It is quite conceivable that he would not be able to finsih a 4 year term. Do we want a woman with 2 years experience taking over?

I take it,then, that you are not voting. One would assume that your vote isn't going to Obama based on 2nd Amemdment issues that are yor priority. Not voting for McCain? Kind of leaves you with no one to vote for, then doesn't it.

if you remember anything at all previously - I'm not currently rooting for a specific candidate now. I'll know better as November 4 approaches closer. I'll have to weigh some and sacrifice some. After all..... it's only 4 (or 8) years.

Sarah Palin, Gun-Toting Slayer of the Bridge to Nowhere

It's Sarah Palin for McCain VP, and she has at least two things going for her in my eyes:

1) Lifetime membership in the NRA

2) About a year ago, she dealt the final blow to the Bridge to Nowhere, the handywork of fellow Alaskan Sen. Ted Stevens. According to the Anchorage Daily News:

She directed the state transportation department to find the most "fiscally responsible" alternative for access to the airport.

The $398 million bridge would have connected Ketchikan to its airport on a nearby island.

"Ketchikan desires a better way to reach the airport, but the $398 million bridge is not the answer," Gov. Sarah Palin said in a prepared statement.

But to reiterate....yeah, lets elect a 72 year old man that may not be able to finish out his term, and is running with a VP that has the PTA, mayor of a town of 85,000 residents, and 2 years as a first term governor under her belt. Oh, yeah, there's a confidence inspiring ticket!
