This "Senate Bill 1867" caught my eye in passing today so I googled it and was dismayed to find out not a single national newspaper is giving this any coverage.

What are your thoughts on this bill and also any theories as to why this is not being mentioned in the news? I really don't like that this was all hush hush and secretive...
Brief explanation of Senate bill 1867: "Labeled the National Defense Authorization Act, S. 1867 was drafted in secret by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) and approved in a closed-door committee meeting, according to the ACLU statement.
Basically, this bill would grant the miitary the right to hold and detain any American citizen indefinitely without a charge, anywhere in the world and within the US for anti-government activities including speaking out against the government...
